Summer 2021 – Squam Lake

It’s heading to -1 Fahrenheit tonight… a stark contrast to the weather you’ll see in this video I had started to make in September of Squam Lake in NH this summer. Using footage from Wilson X (my DJI Air 2S drone), I bumped into the draft in my files and spent a few minutes finishing it up tonight.

It’s funny… the colors and beauty of summer seemed so normal when I started compiling these videos that I didn’t publish at the time. Not interesting enough, I thought strangely. But as we are in the depths of winter now, this video reminds me how special summer in New England is. And now the video brings me joy as a result.

We had never spent time on Squam Lake until last year. But the pandemic kept the Canadian border closed until August 9, and a small cottage on Squam Lake (“Home Alone 2”) became our beloved alternative.

Hopefully you’ll find this as soothing to watch as I did to make it. Only a few more months!
