On this day 20 Years Ago… the Journey of Boloco Began
20 years ago today I skipped a couple of classes and study group at Tuck to drive down to Boston and help Gregg, Adam and Jason open our first Boloco (then known as Under Wraps, and later The Wrap). I would estimate that since that time literally hundreds of you reading this (on FB, LI, not on this blog!) contributed to our success in one way or another. While today Boloco is not the growing brand it once was (which is truthfully painful at times), I’m still immensely proud of the thousands of team members and leaders who have helped us to use a simple (inspired perhaps) burrito to improve the lives and futures of people who work in the restaurant industry. So much work yet to be done, but I rest well knowing when the going got tough (and it is tough) we held firm regardless of consequence on doing what is right for our people, our communities, the environment and of course our customers. Thank you to all of you for carrying us this far. A journey it has been! The future must be earned… even getting to a 21st anniversary is anything but a given. Regardless of where it all ends up in another 20 years from now, I’m grateful for today and all of you. 😎
